Green Initiative

JC Rose & Associates, Inc. has always tried to be conscious of waste within its own facility.  In house, we have been recycling paper, plastic, and aluminum for many years now.  Our shop has made efforts to use materials as efficiently as possible to reduce scrap waste. Products such as Octanorm allow us to continue recycling and reusing display components. Our warehouse has been trying to reduce energy costs by turning on only those overhead lights that are needed for the day.  Our culture as a company has always been one of environmental awareness, but up until this past year we hadn't made many attempts to extend it beyond the inner workings of our offices.  A big reason for this has been the lack of resources pushing for better options, but cost has been a large factor as well.  Greener options have also proven to be more expensive ones, and the costs must be justified on multiple levels. For example, we took it one step further by purchasing a state-of-the-art All-in-one printer that no longer requires hard copies, but instead can automatically send scanned information straight to our computers. It is both energy efficient and environmental friendly. Greener is better.

Statistics revealed our industry to be the world's second largest contributor to waste. At the start of 2008, the employees of JC Rose & Associates made the decision to begin researching greener alternatives in every possible area of trade show exhibiting .  John Rose and Bryn Robison attended this year's Exhibitor Show and came back with new ideas and materials to help make what we do more environmentally friendly.  Many of the manufacturers we work with have had such pressure to go green that they are starting not only to offer more options, but also to keep the costs of those options realistic.  Over the course of the year, we plan to introduce many of those alternatives to our customers with the hope that, together, we can reduce our footprint and set an example for those around us. Now is the time to move ahead of the crowd and set a "green" example.
