 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

You may have heard that Extreme Home Makeover is ending its long-running program on January 13, 2012. This show has redefined hands-on giving across the country by getting companies large and small to unite with local communities for common good. JC Rose & Associates had the privilege of participating in an Extreme Home Makeover that will air as one of several "specials" in the next year. Everyone who participated felt part of something larger than themselves. We hope that the spirit of this series continues to thrive going forward. For more information, click here.

President's Notes

Earlier this month I attended the annual EDPA conference for Exhibit Designers and Producers, being held in what is the US (and possibly the world) capital for trade shows and conventions: Las Vegas.  While home prices in Vegas may still be suffering, the exposition industry is having a nice rebound from the tough years of '08 and '09.  Reports from industry leaders all state that their individual companies have seen improvement in volume of attendance and numbers of exhibitors, and more thawing of marketing budgets than 2010, and even the first half of 2011.  Three things seem to be driving the activity:  A demand to reinvigorate face-to-face marketing programs that have seen flat or reduced budgets in the last several years; companies that have experienced a reduction in overall sales because they pulled back on marketing and now realize they must get back into the game; and a shift in the distribution of funds within overall marketing budgets (i.e.: less print and more social media and events or exhibitions).  While this growth and the perceived continuation of future growth is not yet in double digits, it is very real.

Though the US exposition business model needs some tweaking, now is the time to review and determine where to best use marketing dollars. Give us a call, or drop us a note or email, and let us help you make your trade show and event projects a successful generator of sales for your company.

Have a great Holiday Season, and we look forward to a prosperous 2012.

Non Trade Show Projects

JC Rose has branched out into areas other than exhibits over the last couple years.  Three projects worth mentioning include the installation of 36 interactive computer kiosk training stations in the BMW manufacturing plant in Greer, SC.  BMW uses the kiosks for employee training in multiple applications, and JC Rose worked with Ferebee Lane + Company to design and coordinate production.

One of our exhibit rental clients opened a new corporate headquarters building this fall and JC Rose was contracted to provide permanent showroom and display fixtures.  These included both free-standing product displays and wall mounted graphic displays.

We have also expanded into the retail store fixture arena.  The cell phone and smart phone industry is exploding. We have been working with local Verizon Premium Retailer Wireless Communication as they expand across the Southeast. Projects range from mall kiosks and storefronts, to inline strip shopping center locations and free standing out parcel sites.  We assist in designing the layout of each location, designing creative merchandising displays, and completing fixture installation.

Custom Rental Project

Faiveley USA attends a major US trade show once every three years due to the show cycle.  Because of the long spacing of the show, their preference is to rent rather than own booth properties for this one big exhibit.  JC Rose provided a solution this year that provided a custom look, cost savings, and the ability for Faiveley to reuse large fabric graphic elements at other events and internally after the show. Using a blend of aluminum extrusions, custom platforms, tension fabric canopies, and hanging signage, Faiveley transformed a back-of-the-hall location into a show hotspot.
